I am delighted to be selected as the Conservatives Parliamentary Candidate for Lewisham East in the General Election on July 4th. It was a pleasure to meet local hard-working activists and 2019 candidate, Sam Thurgood.
I lived in South East London for many years, so I understand the challenges faced from commuting, parking and wanting a safe neighbourhood.
My father and grandfather were councillors, and I am really proud to have continued that service, having been a councillor myself for many years and working as a school teacher.
I have already talked to local residents and they tell me that they want to see:
Safer streets - more emphasis on neighbourhood policing, with anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping dealt with,
A say for local communities on low traffic neighbourhoods and 20 mile per hour speed limits.
Provide opportunity for young people, building on our world-leading education system, with more than 90% of our schools good or outstanding.
I look forward to working with the fantastic local team of activists, across the Lewisham Federation and meeting many residents over the coming weeks.
Do get in touch if you would like to support the campaign.
