As a teacher, I was especially thrilled to be able to support the recent events celebrating 50 years of our local library. The Staplehurst Library User Group organised a fantastic set of events, including a children's competition. I was delighted to be able to be one of the sponsors of the prizes, alongside County Cllr. Lottie Parfitt-Reid and fellow Borough Cllr, John Perry and other local businesses and organisations. It was brilliant to see so many children sharing drawings of their favourite books. Reading is a vital skill and our libraries are crucial to encourage a life-long love of reading. Well done to the User Group for all their efforts in ensuring this well-used resource remains at the heart of our village.
